How to Buy Japanese Collectibles From Overseas (Gachapon, Blind Boxes and More)
Most Japanese collectibles, like gachapon capsule toys, blind boxes, kawaii figures and plushies, are sold only inside Japan and can't be shipped abroad on their own, so the way to get them is a personal shopper who buys them in Japan and posts them to you. Bazu Mart sources and ships these worldwide, straight to your door.
What counts as a Japanese collectible
"Japanese collectibles" usually means the small, cute, often surprise-based toys that Japan is famous for. The main types are:
- Gachapon (capsule toys): small figures that come in a plastic capsule from a vending machine, sold in themed series.
- Blind boxes and blind bags: a sealed box or bag where the character inside is a surprise until you open it.
- Kawaii figures: display figures of popular characters, from tiny desk pieces to large statues.
- Plushies: soft toys and plush charms, often tied to a character or a seasonal release.
- Phone charms and straps: little mascots and danglies made to clip onto a bag or phone.

The little extras: keychains, acrylic stands, straps, badges and stationery of your favourite characters, straight from Japan.

Many of these are Japan-exclusive: they launch inside Japan, the shops and capsule machines don't ship overseas, and popular series sell out fast. When they do turn up abroad through resellers, the price is often marked up well above the Japanese shelf price. Buying through a personal shopper inside Japan lets you get them at the source and skip that markup.
How to buy them properly
The simplest way is a personal shopper: pick the set or figure you want (or send us a link or a photo), and we buy it new in Japan, weigh it, and ship it to you. You don't need a Japanese address, an account, or any Japanese, just tell us what you're after on TG: @bazumart. If you're not sure which series something is, send a picture and we'll help you identify it first.
Sealed and new from Japan
We buy collectibles new from Japanese retailers, and send them to you sealed in their original packaging. Because blind boxes and capsule toys are sealed by the maker, we ship them exactly as they come, unopened. We don't grade or guarantee the condition of the contents beyond "bought new in Japan," so if pristine packaging matters to you for a display figure, tell us and we'll take extra care with how it's packed and protected.
What it costs to ship a collectible
Collectibles are priced in US$. Your total has three parts: the item, a small personal-shopper fee for finding and buying it for you in Japan, and shipping, which is billed after we weigh your packed parcel so you pay the real cost instead of a guess. Capsule toys and charms are light and cheap to ship, while figures and plushies weigh more and cost a little more to send. Any import duties or taxes in your country are paid by you at delivery, the same as any international parcel.

Can you get a specific gachapon series or a single figure from a set?
Often yes. Tell us the exact series (or send a link or photo) and we'll try to source it in Japan. A single specific figure from a capsule series depends on stock, because capsule toys are random by design, so we'll tell you honestly what we can find before you pay.
Do you buy blind boxes sealed, or can I pick the character?
We buy blind boxes as sealed factory packs, so the character inside is a surprise, which is the whole idea of a blind box. We can't promise a specific character from a sealed box, but if you want better odds you can order several, or ask us about full sets where they're available.
Can you find sold-out or older releases?
We focus on items you can still buy new in Japan, so the best thing is to send us a link to what you want. If it is available to order, we will source it and ship it to you. We focus on what is still available new in Japan, and we will always be upfront about what we can find for you.
Will my figures arrive safely?
Figures and boxed collectibles are fragile, so we pack them with extra protection and ship with tracking. In the rare case something arrives damaged, send us a few photos and we'll refund you.
